  Proposed changes to auditing practices
 
The Institute is inviting comments on a consultation paper about proposed changes to the way we license auditors with a view to raising audit quality. The proposals will affect those of you who wish to enter the audit profession upon qualifying as a CPA in the future. Your views on this important reform are needed to shape the way forward. Send your comments by email to admission@hkicpa.org.hk by 1 March 2010. Please provide your name and student number in your submission so that we know the views are from students.

Education and Careers Expo 2010

The Institute will participate in the Education and Careers Expo from 4 to 7 February 2010, to introduce QP and showcase the accounting profession to visitors. Come and meet our QP graduates in an experience-sharing session to be held at the Expo on 7 February 2010.
 

Surveys point to growth in
accounting jobs

Things are starting to look up on the job front for accountants. Recent surveys by recruitment firms Ambition and Manpower Services (Hong Kong) Ltd. have shown that more companies are hiring this year, reflecting rising business confidence in Hong Kong.
