Reciprocal Membership Agreements



Recognition Arrangements


Back in late 2002, the HKICPA signed reciprocal membership agreements with:

   Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA)
   Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW) *
   Institute of Chartered Accountant in Ireland(ICAI)
   Institute of Chartered Accountants of New Zealand (ICANZ)
   Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS)
   Institute of Chartered Accountants of Zimbabwe (ICAZ)
   South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA).

These have enabled the HKIPCA members who have completed the QP and worked under the HKICPA Authorised Employer or Authorised Supervisor to become members of the above seven chartered accountant institutes, after completing relevant aptitude test on local law and practice. Under similar terms, reciprocal membership of the HKICPA equally applies to members of these chartered institute

* Membership & Co-Operation Agreement

With effect from 8 September 2004, Hong Kong Institute of CPAs members who qualified through the QP will achieve the designations of CPA and will also be eligible to join the ICAEW and become a Chartered Accountant (ACA) under a membership and co-operation agreement signed with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. No aptitude test is required under their agreement.
