| REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS |
The registration of a firm of certified public accountants (practising) is governed by sections 28A to 28C of the Professional Accountants Ordinance and Professional Accountants By-laws 28 and 29. A Certified Public Accountant (“CPA”) holding a practising certificate who wishes to practise under a firm name, as a sole proprietor or in partnership with other CPA(s), must apply to the Council for registration of the firm name. Upon registration, firms will receive the following benefits: Free listing in the List of CPA Practices in the HKICPA website Small- and medium-size firms will also receive information on activities and training courses organised for them by the HKICPA's Small and Medium Practitioners Committee. |

| RENEWAL REQUIREMENTS |
The registration of a firm will end on 31 December each year. An application for renewal of registration shall be made to the Registrar of the HKICPA not later than 15 December in the year preceding the year of renewal in such form as the Council may specify. Renewal of firm registration shall not be granted except on payment of the registration fee fixed by the Council. |
