Football for Accountants

A football competition for accountants in Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Zhuhai was held from 30 June to 1 July 2001 in Shenzhen. After two days of action-packed matches, the Guangzhou team won the championship while the Shenzhen team and the HKSA team came second and third respectively.

The Society's team lost its first match to Guangzhou team by four goals to none on the first day. However, the Society's team played better on the second day beating the Zhuhai team by six goals to five. The event provided a good opportunity for members to meet PRC counterparts.

The football team is overseen by the FIG, which provides a forum for members interested in football to get together. Since its formation in late 1998, the team has played in the Wah Yan League and Union League, as well as playing friendly matches against teams from other organisations.
