Diploma in Insolvency programme

The Diploma in Insolvency programme is the Institute's first Specialist Qualification. It is a one-year, part-time programme consisting of more than 50 contact hours, covering subjects such as liquidation, corporate rescue & restructuring and personal insolvency (including voluntary arrangements).

The programme will provide participants with an in-depth and integrated study of the different aspects of insolvency administration, with particular emphasis on the practical issues relating to these areas and the primary principles that underpin them. All preparatory and contact hours will qualify as verifiable CPD hours.

Applicants have to meet certain requirements in order to be admitted to the programme.

Pathway to the 2010/11 Diploma programme:

The course materials for the Diploma programme, namely the updated Hong Kong Corporate Insolvency Manual (Second Edition) and Hong Kong Personal Insolvency Manual (Second Edition) were published by the Institute in 2009 and 2010 respectively.

The Official Receiver's Office (ORO) recognises a pass in the Diploma programme as contributing to 50 hours of insolvency work under the ORO's various schemes for contracting out insolvency cases.

The Diploma programme has been included in the list of reimbursable courses for Continuing Education Fund (CEF) purposes. Participants who have successfully completed the programme will be entitled to reimbursement of up to HK$10,000.

This programme has been accredited by the Law Society of Hong Kong. A maximum of 15 CPD points can be claimed per year, i.e. from 1 November to 31 October of the following year, from attending the programme.
