Q1. How many years of practical experience is required for membership applicants?
Ans. The prescribed period of practical experience is 5 years. In the case of a recognised degree holder or a holder of a diploma in accountancy awarded by an educational institute approved by the Council, it is 3 to 4 years as the case may be.
 
Q2. If I have doubts regarding the recognition of my working experience for membership purpose, what should I do?
Ans. In general, working experience acquired from CPA practices or financial/management accounting department of a commercial or public organisation is accepted for membership purposes. If you possess working experience other than those specified, you are advised to furnish official testimonial(s) issued by your employer(s) with the Membership Section of the Institute on your job nature, including weighting of and time allocation on accounting duties, of your employment for assessment.
