| Q5. |
We are a group of MBA students currently conducting a
research project on Internal Auditing. We would be most grateful if the
Institute could provide relevant information on this subject. |
| Ans. |
The Institute often receives requests for assistance from
students undertaking research projects in accountancy or related fields.
These include requests for the supply of information and interviews with
the Institute's committee members and/or secretariat. While the Institute
would like to assist students with their research projects due to limited
resources, it has become impossible to entertain every request received.
Hence, guidelines have been established to enable students to understand
the procedures to follow and the types of request likely to be entertained.
These are as follows:- |
| |

|
Requests must be in written form and submitted via department lecturers.
The objectives and methodology of research must be included. |
| |
 |
It must be demonstrated that some research has already been done by
the student/group of students concerned and that the questions raised
are specific and directly related to the accountancy profession and to
the project. |
| |
 |
At least a fortnight's notice should be given to the Institute to supply
information or to arrange interviews. |
| |
 |
Questions seeking opinions on matters on which the Institute has not yet
taken an official stand will not be entertained. |
