HKICPA Career Forum 2018

On 7 October 2018, the Institute organized its 11th Career Forum at Hong Kong Science Park. Over 600 participants attended the forum activities including accounting plus focus groups, career-oriented workshops, employer exhibition and luncheon with CPAs.

The forum was an interactive half-day event which gave the participants a real taste of Accounting Plus and offered them the chance to learn how the profession is "The Critical Piece" of our society. Please click here to view the forum highlights.

HKICPA Business Case Competition 2018

The Case Competition attracted over 630 teams from higher education institutions in Hong Kong and the Mainland (including Macau). 12 finalist teams (6 teams each from Hong Kong and the Mainland & Macau regions respectively) will be shortlisted to enter the final competition through a blind review undertaken by reviewers from both academia and accounting practices. The finalists will meet on the presentation day, followed by a luncheon with CPAs, on Sunday, 25 November 2018 at the Harbour Grand Hong Kong Hotel.

QP early bird scheme for the June 2019 Examination Session

The Institute will be organizing a series of information sessions and roving exhibitions on the Qualification Programme (QP) at eight higher education institutions in November 2018. Through the information sessions and the exhibitions, students can get information about the structure of the Institute's professional accounting education program, the QP, and how QP helps them get ahead in their career.

Final year students who would like to join the QP early bird scheme may submit their registration form at the exhibitions. Kindly note that the early bird scheme closing date for the June 2019 Session is
23 November 2018. For more details about the information sessions and exhibitions, please check with your institution's accounting department or contact the registration team of the Hong Kong Institute of CPAs via email at students.reg@hkicpa.org.hk or call at 2287 7068 / 2287 7397.

Paul She, Audit Partner at Mazars CPA Limited, is a very active contributor to the Institute, particularly focused on encouraging young people to join the profession. He views the profession as not just about knowledge, but also about how we interact with other people and solve problems as a team – his most critical reason for studying the QP.
