HKICPA Career Forum 2018

Joining the HKICPA Career Forum on Sunday, 7 October 2018, at the Hong Kong Science Park, offers you a golden chance to get updates on developments in the accountancy profession and, with its new interactive format attendees will be able to receive helpful CV and professional advice.

This year, the forum focus on accountancy as "The critical piece", featuring career-oriented focus group activities, workshops (in Cantonese supplemented by English), CV Doctor, employer exhibition, and a free luncheon. Attendees will experience a new and interactive format for the event. During the exhibition, you have the opportunity to meet with HR staff from 18 companies from commercial, practising and public sectors where you can submit your CV to them on spot.

HKICPA Business Case Competition 2018

The HKICPA Business Case Competition 2018 aims at developing your business skills, cultivating your professional judgment and preparing yourselves for the business environment. It offers you a chance to excel and bring your skills into full play by competing against teams from universities across Greater China. As well as improving your oral presentation skills, at the luncheon you can mingle with CPAs and learn from the professionals in be attendance.

Experience sharing from the winner of Case Competition 2017
Toy story

Ms. Meesri Suthinan, one of the champion team members from the QP Case Analysis Competition in 2017, and who was also awarded the best presenter of the competition, says the experience helped her prepare for the workplace and also grow as a person. Meesri is a first-year student in corporate governance at The Open University of Hong Kong. She was rewarded for the win with an internship at PwC this summer, which she says has filled her with enthusiasm to work in auditing.

Mr. To Chi Wing, General Manager, Treasury, Bank of China (Hong Kong) Ltd., is a staunch supporter of the Institute's QP and its recent revamp. Like many accountants, his role has evolved and broadened over the years. He admires the fact that the new QP places greater emphasis on skills such as problem solving and lateral thinking which will groom the next generation of accountants to effectively work in an increasingly connected business environment.
