Enhanced tax deduction for research and development expenditures
The Inland Revenue (Amendment) (No.7) Ordinance 2018 enacted on 2 November 2018 provides enhanced tax deduction for research and development (R&D) expenditures. In the article, Dr Annie Mok Yuet-ngo and Dr Olivia Leung explain that R&D expenditures must be arising from a qualifying R&D activity and related to the trade, profession, or business of the taxpayer in order to qualify for the deduction of “Type B” expenditure.

One big leap to success

Module preparation seminars for the December 2019 session
A series of module preparation and examination technique seminars on QP modules and final examination have been scheduled to help candidates prepare for the QP examinations in December 2019.

Opening hours of the Institute’s library and study room
The opening hours of the Institute’s library and study room will be extended between 4 November and 27 December 2019, to support QP candidates in preparing their examinations, except early closing at 4 p.m. on 22 and 24 December.
