Regional insolvency and restructuring update and current issues
Join the lunch seminar on 7 Jan to understand some practical considerations regarding the mutual recognition of insolvency processes between the Mainland and Hong Kong, whether parallel schemes are necessary, and the conflicting judgments in Hong Kong, Bermuda and the Cayman Islands.

Mastering convertible bonds for accountants
The two workshop sessions of the Corporate Finance Series on 10 and 17 Jan will focus on the features of convertible bonds and their pricing mechanism and underlying risk drivers. The key credit documentation issues of convertible bond issuances will also be discussed.

The integrity agenda
At the lunch seminar on 16 Jan, speakers will discuss about how to improve the underlying compliance within their corporate environments, from the current environment and enforcement activities, the growing importance of the integrity agenda, to the principles on machine learning adoption and big data analytics.

ITIG visit to the ASTRI’s Smart City Innovation Centre
Join the Information Technology Interest Group (ITIG) visit to the Smart City Innovation Centre of the Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) on 14 Jan, to discover ASTRI’s latest initiatives, and the innovations and technological developments turning Hong Kong into a smart city.

Standard Chartered Marathon runner's pack

If you have registered with the Institute as a CPA runner of the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2020, please collect your runner's pack from the Institute (not Victoria Park) from 5 to 8 Feb. Details of collection will be announced in Mid-Jan.

 
Institute invites members to complete its Ethics Survey

The Institute is inviting members to participate in the HKICPA Ethics Survey to understand the ethical attitudes of professional accountants in Hong Kong and the impact of the Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants. The survey will close on 20 Jan.
