Explore the practical issues of corporate governance and risk management

The risk management and corporate governance module is one of the five components of the Financial Controllership Programme (FCP). ICAC workshop on ethical decision making
At the workshop on 25 Sept, representatives from the Independent Commission Against Corruption's (ICAC) Hong Kong Business Ethics Development Centre will discuss the model for ethical decision making. Participants will develop useful perspectives for identifying an ethical issue and the skills needed for resolving ethical dilemmas.

CGMA Program – Special offer to QP-qualified Institute members
Enrol in the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants' Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) Program in October at a specially arranged discounted rate available for members who qualified through the Institute's Qualification Programme (QP). New regulatory regime for listed company auditors

The Financial Reporting Council (Amendment) Ordinance 2019 will take effect on 1 Oct, and the Financial Reporting Council will become fully responsible for the regulation of auditors of listed companies, i.e. public interest entities (PIE). With effect from 1 Oct, a practice unit must be registered as a PIE auditor with the Institute before it can carry out PIE engagements. ORO tender notice

The Official Receiver’s Office (ORO) has issued a tender notice for taking up of appointment to complete preliminary examination in bankruptcy cases. The deadline for tender submission is 10 Sept 12:00 noon.

IFRS/HKFRS 17 Insurance Contracts

Sign up for the IFRS/HKFRS 17 Insurance Contracts workshops for non-life insurers on 23 and 24 Sept if you have acquired the basic principles of the new standard and wish to develop a practical knowledge of the standard.

AML notice - United Nations sanctions

The updated list of individuals and entities was published on 22 Aug pursuant to the Gazettal of Terrorists and Terrorist Associates under United Nations (Anti-terrorism Measures) Ordinance (Cap. 575). Details of one entry on the ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaida sanctions list were amended. For details, please refer to the press release issued by the United Nations Security Council Committee.
