  Strengthening relations with the Beijing Institute of Certified Public Accountants  

The Institute's President Patrick Law welcomed a 10-person delegation led by Beijing Institute of Certified Public Accountants President Li Yu Guo on 27 March. The parties signed a memorandum of understanding on closer collaboration for joint talent development, technical exchange and member support in Hong Kong and the Mainland, witnessed by representatives from the membership of both bodies. New e-Manager courses

The Institute has just launched 41 new e-Manager courses covering a wide range of topics including business, financial and risk analysis, project management, insurance, derivative and information technology structure. Enrol now to develop the skills you need to be an Accountant Plus and achieve CPD hours anytime and anywhere.


Valuation series
The valuation series in May will provide insights into market trends and developments pertaining to valuations of new economy industries and state-owned enterprise corporate transactions.

Understanding and managing corporate fraud risks
The workshop on 7 May will cover types of common fraud schemes such as financial statements fraud and assets misappropriation. Join the workshop to sharpen your skills and learn the techniques necessary for effective fraud detection.

China tax conference 2019
Attend the annual China tax conference on 11 May to understand how the latest developments in Mainland taxation affect Hong Kong and international businesses. The speakers will also discuss corporate income tax, transfer pricing and indirect tax.

Bowling winter league awards

Team Turkey beat seven other teams to win the winter league which concluded on 15 March. Kenneth Luk (737), Caris Wan (687) won the Men's and Ladies' High Series respectively, while Patrick Cheung and Cecilia Poon won the awards for the most-improved players. Click to see results and photos.


CPA graded bowling competition

Congratulations to Ralf Ho, Patrick Lee, and Lydia Chau who won grades A, B and C respectively in the graded bowling competition on 31 March. Ralf Ho and Lee Wai Ping won the overall single highest scoring games. Click to see results and photos.

The Institute is seeking comments on the International Ethics Standards Board for Accountant's Exposure Draft Proposed Revisions to Part 4B of the Code to Reflect Terms and Concepts Used in ISAE 3000 (Revised).


IFRS project summary

The International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Foundation has published the project summary on the Principles of Disclosure research project.


Circular on reporting

The circular on reporting under Section 20 of the Product Eco-responsibility (Regulated Electrical Equipment) Regulation (Cap. 603B) is now available.


March IFRIC update

The March 2019 IFRIC Update includes a summary of the decisions reached by the IFRS Interpretations Committee in its public meetings.


IIRC releases new FAQs about integrated thinking and reporting

The International Integrated Reporting Council recently published new frequently asked questions on integrated reporting (<IR>), including how <IR> is helping find the answers to business challenges.
