2019 compliance forum

 

Speakers at the compliance forum on 10 April will help members to better apply professional skepticism; comply with relevant professional requirements; and, through compliance, enhance the quality of their professional work. The forum will also review common pitfalls identified in past cases.


Indirect tax updates in Asia Pacific

At the seminar on 9 April, the specialist in indirect tax and customs will discuss some recent practices and trends of indirect tax including value-added tax and goods and services tax in Asia-Pacific countries.


Updates on the Hong Kong M&A environment and related tax issues
The evening seminar on 4 April will give an overview of Hong Kong mergers & acquisitions environment and the recent unified fund tax exemption regime. Speakers will also discuss Hong Kong and Mainland China tax implications, the role of Hong Kong as a holding platform for outbound investments and the beneficial ownership requirements in Mainland China.

Understanding green finance and ESG: theory and practice
Join the seminar co-organized by the Center for Economic Sustainability & Entrepreneurial Finance of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the Hong Kong Investor Relations Association on 1 April to understand how environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance can bring sustainable business benefits. Industry experts will come together to share their expertise and insights on green finance framework, ESG reporting and integration with real-life case studies. The seminar is supported by the HKSAR government and is free of charge. Online registration is available now.

The International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board will hold three webcasts to discuss the key aspects of the proposed changes to its suite of quality management standards, including International Standard on Quality Management 1, International Standard on Quality Management 2 and International Standard on Auditing 220.
