Cocktail reception in Guangzhou

Risk management sharing session "Belt and Road: Hong Kong – IN"
Register for the risk management sharing session "Belt and Road: Hong Kong – IN" on 25 Feb co-organized by the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau and the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission. Representatives of state-owned enterprises and professionals from Hong Kong will come together to share measures and experiences to prevent and manage the risks in overseas project along the Belt and Road. Don't miss the Property, Infrastructure and Construction Interest Group seminar on 28 Feb to learn about the recent development of the Reverse Mortgage Programme, as well as the product features, application guidelines and approval procedures.

Enrol in the workshops on 23 Feb and 23 March to understand various stages of enterprise resource planning implementation, including training preparation, cutover planning, go-live support, as well as stabilization and post-implementation review.

 
CPA football competition winners

The CPA football competition concluded on 20 Jan. Thanks to all 19 teams who competed this year. BCJ won the competition, beating RSM Hong Kong 3-0 in the final. Lam Kam Fung, Deep of Grant Thornton took home the medal for "speedy scorer." Click to see results and photos.


Ngong Ping Charity Walk 2019

A big thanks to the eight members who represented the Institute at the Ngong Ping Charity Walk on 20 Jan. The 20 km corporate charity team of Edwin Yeung, Ellen Cheng, Bryan Lee and Ronald Wong won the Champion, while the 29 km corporate charity team of Juni Ngai, Jeremy Chiu, Allan Lee and Wallace Wong, finished third. Standard Chartered Marathon

The Standard Chartered Marathon is just around the corner. Visit us at the Causeway Bay Sports Ground next to the Hong Kong Central Library on marathon day (17 Feb). The Institute's marquee will begin serving members at the earliest possible time from 6:30 am, providing storage service, refreshments, group photos and physiotherapy treatment. More details soon!

The Institute published a summary which outlines the new and amended standards and interpretations issued that are:

applicable to December 2018 year-end; and

effective subsequent to December 2018 year-end, but may be adopted early.

Pocket summary for HKFRS 17

The Institute published the second pocket summary on HKFRS 17 Insurance Contracts, which focuses on the requirements for determining the boundary of an insurance contract.


Hong Kong Insurance Implementation Support Group

Register as an observer to attend upcoming HKIISG meetings if you are interested in HKFRS 17 Insurance Contracts implementation. Updated meeting papers and summaries of discussions pertinent to HKFRS 17 are also available.
