Macau CPAs join expanded Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Alliance

The second meeting of Alliance firms, since its formation a year ago, was held on 10 Dec in Guangzhou. Almost 100 representatives met to welcome Macau CPA practices into the Alliance, followed by a talk on the China-United States trade war. Hong Kong's 20-person delegation was led by the Institute's Vice-President, Johnson Kong. Click to see photos.

Become an insolvency specialist

The Specialist Designation in Insolvency is open to members with considerable experience and competencies in insolvency practice, and who have gained the SQ (Insolvency). Holders of the Specialist Designation in Insolvency are entitled to use "SD (Insolvency)" after their names. The current application round will close on 31 Jan.

How to structure your e-commerce business in the global tax landscape
At the 3 Jan evening seminar, the speakers will focus on the tax issues surrounding electronic sale of goods, and will share updates and changes of the tax landscapes in the United States, Mainland China and the European Union.

FSIG cocktail reception – Predicting investor behaviours by blood type
At the Financial Services Interest Group annual cocktail reception on 16 Jan, Fred Wong, Founder and Alchemist Apprentice of Artificial Intelligence Hong Kong, will share the secret of how people of the four blood types utilize their left and right brain to make decisions, and how they are related to different investment styles – individualist, guardian, celebrity, and adventurer. The reception is also a great opportunity to mingle and network with fellow members early in the New Year.

Corporate Finance Series
The Corporate Finance Series from January to February will cover a wide range of corporate finance topics and key financial decisions faced by organizations, including the applications and practical issues in corporate financial management in the fast-changing capital market and their implications to accountants.

Environmental, Social and Governance Series
Enrol in the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Series from January to February which covers an overview of ESG reporting and greenhouse gas accounting/carbon trading, interpretation of ESG rating and responses, as well as how environmental due diligence affects merger and acquisition deal conditions.

CGMA Finance Leadership Program – Special offer to QP-qualified Institute members

Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong's invitational tournaments

Congratulations to champion team of Kenneth Lam and Thomas Tsang who won the open men's doubles table tennis tournament on 17 Nov at the invitational tournaments organized by the Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong. Kenneth Kwan and Tommy Wong also came second in the open men's doubles tennis tournament on 14 Oct. In addition, the Institute won the "Best Team Spirit Award" (最具合作精神獎).
