A Plus – Conference issue

The November issue of A Plus, released last week, reports on two conferences held in November, the World Congress of Accountants in Sydney and the Hong Kong FinTech Week 2018. Other articles include interviews with the Climate Disclosure Standards Board's Managing Director Mardi McBrien, Mazars Group's Partner Paul She, and CPA cyclists.

"Rich Kid, Poor Kid" awarded 2019 Financial Education Champion

The Institute's "Rich Kid, Poor Kid" programme has been recognized by the Hong Kong Strategy for Financial Literacy as a "Financial Education Champion" last month. The award acknowledges the contributions and achievements of the Institute and our Accountant Ambassadors have made in promoting financial education over the years through the programme. Shareholders' disputes and fairness of corporate transactions
At the 17 Dec lunch seminar, the speaker will look at shareholders' disputes and the role of insolvency practitioners in helping to resolve them; the valuation process; and determining and comment on the fairness of the corporate transactions.

ERP implementation – best practices, controls and governance
The enterprise resource planning (ERP) implementation series aims to enable participants to understand the various stages of ERP implementation. The workshops on 23 Feb and 23 March will focus on training preparation, cutover planning, go live support, as well as stabilization and post-implementation review.

HKIS General Practice Division's annual conference
Learn more about the latest development of the Greater Bay Area and career opportunities available in the area for the young professionals by attending the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors General Practice Division's annual conference on 19 Jan. Institute members enjoy the same rate as HKIS members.
Sports competition results

The Institute sent two teams to compete in the annual Cross Border Competitions with CPAs from Hong Kong, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen on 2 Dec in Guangzhou. Our teams finished third in badminton and fourth in football. Click to see photos.

The Institute's runners won three team championships for 10km, half marathon and full marathon races, as well as many individual medals at the RSCP Marathon Competitions against architects, barristers, dentists, doctors and lawyers. ICAC's Anti-Corruption Programme – A Guide for Listed Companies

The Independent Commission Against Corruption's Corruption Prevention Advisory Service unit provides free, confidential and tailor-made advice and services to the needy. It has recently published a guide to assist listed companies in developing and effectively implementing corporate anti-corruption programmes. A Tips for Good Environmental, Social and Governance Reporting under the Anti-corruption Aspect was also published to supplement the guide, covering the recommended core elements of a corporate anti-corruption programme.
