  President's Dinner  

Norman Chan, Chief Executive of Hong Kong Monetary Authority, was this year's guest of honour at the annual President's Dinner held on 17 Sep. The dinner gathering, attended by past presidents, Council members, committee chairs and senior management, invites leading figures of the Hong Kong community to share their views on issues affecting the profession and the city.     Institute welcomed delegation from CPPCC  

The Institute welcomed a delegation of 29 Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) delegates comprising professionals including accountants, lawyers, architects, and planners on 13 Sep. The Institute's management gave the delegation an overview of Hong Kong's accounting profession, introduced the Institute's roles and operations, our relationships with Mainland organizations including regulators, our participation in international affairs, and how we serve and support our members. The delegation also learnt about the Qualification Programme and its recognition in Mainland China and globally.


Consequence of non-compliance with CPD requirements

The IASB released its final webcast in a series of web presentations related to the Discussion Paper Financial Instruments with Characteristics of Equity. This webcast discusses the board’s preferred approach to the presentation of financial liabilities.
