Cocktail reception in Guangdong

 

The Institute hosted a cocktail reception in Guangzhou on 7 Mar where the President, Vice-President and senior management met with more than 120 guests from Guangdong authorities, stakeholders and members. Click to see photos.

Extended enterprise risk management
The seminar on 28 Mar will illustrate how successful risk management can turn challenges into opportunities for companies. Speakers will share the steps required to perform risk assessment and ways to develop internal controls, as well as the trends and best practices of risk management and internal audit.

Impact of new transfer pricing rules on the "source" rule and offshore claims
Join us at the seminar on 29 Mar to explore how the new transfer pricing rules could potentially affect, contradict, or supplement the Hong Kong source rule.

Environmental, social and governance series
The environmental, social and governance (ESG) series from April to June will cover practical techniques on the interpretation and presentation of key performance indicators, identification of potential improvements for ESG performance, and insights from the KPMG Corporate Responsibility Reporting survey.

Soft skills series
The soft skills series from April to May will focus on performance coaching, boosting team performance by increasing engagement levels, and presentation skills.

The Belt and Road Initiative and Hong Kong SMEs seminar
The Support and Consultation Centre for SMEs of the government's Trade and Industry Department will host a seminar on the topic "The Belt and Road Initiative and Hong Kong SMEs" on 16 Mar. Interested members can register for the free event here.

Members discount for the Capital Markets Forum for Listed Companies
The 2018 Capital Markets Forum for Listed Companies organised by the Chamber of Hong Kong Listed Companies will take place on 27 Apr. Survey about the impact of China's Belt and Road Initiative on the accountancy profession
The Research Centre for Sustainable Hong Kong, City University of Hong Kong is collaborating with the Society of Chinese Accountants & Auditors to conduct a survey about the impact of China’s Belt and Road Initiative on the accountancy profession. Complete their online survey by 18 Mar.
 
Bilateral Meeting between ASBJ and the Institute
The Accounting Standards Board of Japan (ASBJ) and the Institute's Standard Setting Department held their first bilateral meeting on 5 and 6 Mar. ASBJ's proposals on an accounting standard on virtual currencies was discussed, and the Institute's staff thinking on how to account for group reorganizations was also shared.
