Extraordinary general meeting results


An extraordinary general meeting was held last Friday, 2 Mar, in response to the request of more than 100 members. Members in attendance and also by proxy carried the three resolutions proposed (see here). The Council would like to thank members who attended and voted.

CFIG lunch seminar with HKEX on listing regime
Join the CFIG seminar on 19 Mar where Michael Chan, Senior Vice President of the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited, will provide an overview about the proposed new listing regime which focuses on companies from emerging and innovative sectors.

Overview on anti-money laundering
The seminar on 22 Mar will give an introduction to the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing (Financial Institutions) Ordinance and discuss internal controls for anti-money laundering.

Smart applications of big data
The seminar on 20 Apr will introduce some information technology terms like cloud computing, big data, artificial intelligence and blockchain, and discuss their applications with case studies.

Course on China's national development and governance
The three-day course for young members will take place on 20-22 Apr in Guangzhou, covering China's diplomatic strategy, the latest development in the Greater Bay Area, taxation policies as well as the political system and organization of the Mainland Chinese government.

Enrol in the risk management workshops in Apr and May to sharpen your financial and management skills, and enhance your business acumen and commercial awareness.
Enrol in the seminar on 24 Apr to learn more about the major Asian bond markets and their latest developments.
Don't forget to enrol in the ForensIG spring debate and cocktail event 2018 on 15 Mar on the topic of "more regulations vs less regulation" and network with fellow members in celebration of the year of the dog.
Enrol in the 2018 1st mini bridge tournament on
24 Mar to gain tournament experience.
Don't forget to sign up for golf events on 16 Apr and 28 Apr at The Jockey Club Kau Sai Chau Public Golf Course.
Last call for the annual CPA graded bowling competition on 25 Mar at the South China Athletic Association Bowling Centre.
Gazettal of Terrorists and Terrorist Associates under United Nations (Anti-terrorism Measures) Ordinance
United Nations Security Council Committees has issued an updated list of terrorists and terrorist associates designated by the Security Council 1988 Committee on 16 Feb 2017 and the Security Council 1267/1989/2253 Committee on 14 Feb. The notice also revokes the previous notice issued on

Hong Kong Insurance Implementation Support Group

The Institute has established the HKIISG to support implementation of HKFRS 17 Insurance Contracts. Interested parties can submit implementation questions for discussion at HKIISG or register as an observer to attend upcoming HKIISG meetings.
