Consultation on Practical Experience Framework


As detailed in the email from the Chief Executive today, the Institute issued the Consultation Paper on Proposed Changes to Practical Experience Framework which sets out proposals on refining the practical experience requirements and enhancing the practical experience process. The review of the Practical Experience Framework is a continuation and an integral part of the development of the new Qualification Programme.

The revised framework enhances the flexibility of the practical experience requirements, strengthens the quality assurance of the Authorized Employer and Authorized Supervisor system, and promotes communication through an online system.

Greater Bay Area: Useful studies and insights
With the Greater Bay Area initiative drawing increasing attention, the Institute has collated some useful reports and insights, as well as government papers, to assist members' research into the issues and opportunities in the development of the Greater Bay Area as well as the role of Hong Kong in the initiative. Free family storytelling "Rich Kid, Poor Kid" session
The Institute will host a "Rich Kid, Poor Kid" storytelling session on 3 Mar for both members and non-members. Parents are invited to bring their children (between the age of 8 and 11) to join this free session. Enrolment deadline is
23 Feb.

Joint Institute – IFRS Foundation stakeholder dinner
The Institute and the IFRS Foundation co-hosted a dinner titled "Hong Kong and IFRS Standards: Past, Present and Future", attended by representatives from leading businesses, investment firms and regulators in Hong Kong on 31 Jan. The Amendment Bill on new legislative measures to counter BEPS
Enrol in the seminar on 23 Feb to learn more about the key legislative measures proposed in the Inland Revenue (Amendment) (No. 6) Bill 2017 and on how to prepare for the new compliance requirements as well as other potential impacts.

Practical considerations of suitability for listing
At the Corporate Finance Interest Group seminar on 1 Mar, Daniel Wan, Partner of Addleshaw Goddard (Hong Kong) LLP, will talk about IPO listing requirements, transfer of listing from GEM to Main Board, issues that may affect suitability for listing, as well as disclosure requirements for application proof and prospectus.

Overview on anti-money laundering
The seminar on 14 Mar will give an introduction to the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing (Financial Institutions) Ordinance and discuss internal controls for anti-money laundering.
