Mentorship Programme 2018-19:
Now accepting applications

The 2018-2019 Mentorship Programme is accepting applications until 31 Dec. Members with less than 7 years of post qualification experience can apply to become a mentee, while those with 7 or more years, a mentor. Read more from past participants here and about the application process here.

 

Membership survey

The Institute is conducting its 5th membership survey to identify ways to better serve members' needs. Participants who complete the survey will have the chance to win prizes in the lucky draw, including a camera, Apple watch or iPad.


Corporate banking: A basic understanding
Take the e-learning course to gain a basic understanding of corporate banking products, followed by a face-to-face seminar on 28 Nov for in-depth knowledge on the topic and the suitability for various types of corporate borrowers.

How to apply for CPD exemption
Members who are not doing accountancy or related work, do not plan to do so for a significant period of time, and meet other requirements, may apply to the Institute for CPD exemption. Click to see Appendix of Statement 1.500 (July 2014) and CPD requirements to learn more.

Reminders
The IT seminar on 4 Dec will cover the latest cybersecurity threats and laws, as well as recent ransomware incidents and strategies to reduce risks.
Enrol in the soft skills workshop on 4 Dec to learn skills in resolving conflicts constructively and confidently.

Enrol in the seminar on 6 Dec to get practical insights on how to improve the quality of ESG reporting with reference to the results of a survey conducted by KPMG on the first year of application of the HKEX ESG Reporting Guide.

Last call to the jazz night on 24 Nov to enjoy good music over drinks and canapés while networking with fellow young members.
Don't forget to join the 4-session snooker training courses beginning on 26 Nov to brush up your snooker skills or pick up a new hobby. Beginner and intermediate sessions are available.
Sign up for the golf day at Phoenix Hill Golf Club in Dongguan on 16 Dec to play with fellow golf enthusiasts.
The elementary and intermediate tennis training course will begin in early December.
 
A deep dive into IFRS 17

Sign up for the Institute's workshop on IFRS 17 Insurance Contracts on 5 Dec, which will focus on how the new requirements will work in practice. The workshop is targeted towards members who wish to develop a working knowledge of the standard.
