The Institute's Annual Dinner will take place on
5 Dec at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. This year's theme, Sparking the Smart Era, represents the many new opportunities for the accounting profession brought by technological developments. Call for enrolment – The new face of Professional Diploma in Insolvency
The Institute's updated Professional Diploma in Insolvency, covering liquidation, personal insolvency, corporate rescue and restructuring, and cross-border insolvency, will begin in November. The programme is reimbursable under the Continuing Education Fund. Enrol by 10 Nov or click here for more details about the insolvency programmes offered by the Institute.

HKEX consultations on capital raisings
Sign up for the Corporate Finance Interest Group's evening seminar on 9 Nov, to hear Max Cheng and Joseph Choi, Assistant Vice Presidents of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited, explain the HKEX proposals relating to capital raisings by listed issuers and its delisting framework.

Career conference: Young accountants' path and employers' expectations
Don't miss this year's Career Conference on 11 Nov. Panelists will share their experience in creating rewarding careers as well as their expectations for working with, and hiring, young CPAs. Recruitment consultants will also discuss an overview of the industry and the key skills they look for in candidates.

The corporate governance case for board gender diversity
The seminar on 3 Nov will talk about the effects on corporate governance when companies diversify their board members. The presentation will be based on the speaker's paper on a qualitative content analysis of American judicial decisions wherein company boards faced litigation regarding issues of corporate governance.

How to decide whether it's CPD
Seminars, conferences and online courses are acceptable as CPD activities. When choosing CPD courses, think about whether they contribute to the development of professional competence relevant to your work. The role of Hong Kong notaries public in business
Enrol in the seminar on 8 Nov which will explain notary services in Hong Kong through real life examples particularly relevant to accountants and auditors. +

Legal issues with employment disputes
The seminar on 13 Nov will discuss legal issues with employment disputes such as major employment compensation items, termination, how to handle ex-employee's personal data, and employment reference checks and case laws regarding employment disputes in Hong Kong.

Business Ethics – A Perspective from the ICAC

Join the Property, Infrastructure and Construction Interest Group seminar on 15 Nov, at which Master Yang Yun Zhong, Principal of the Institute of Chinese Taiji-wisdom Co.
