Congratulations!
Past presidents appointed as Principal Officials of the new government

 

Paul Chan, the Institute's president in year 2006, was appointed as Financial Secretary in January 2017. He will continue as Financial Secretary in the new administration.



David Sun, the Institute's president in year 2003, was appointed as Director of Audit in July 2012. He will continue as Director of Audit in the new administration.

The Revised Auditor's Report

Auditor's reports of listed entities are now required to describe key audit matters (KAMs). The Institute's Standard Setting Department is conducting a survey on the benefits and challenges of reporting KAMs.

Your feedback will help the Institute understand how the profession could respond to challenges, if there were any, and whether the new requirement serves users' needs. Don't miss out on this opportunity share your views by 31 July.

 

Practical issues of risk management and corporate governance

The Risk Management and Corporate Governance section of the Financial Controllership Programme will begin in July. Participants will learn more about the topics through interactive case study activities and discussions. Enrol by 3 July or click here for details about the FCP.


Investor relations series
The investor relations series, which begins in July, will introduce the profession and cover financial public relations as well as social media and crisis management in investor relations.

Guided tour of Legislative Council
Members interested in learning more about LegCo's history and functions can now enrol in the educational tours, co-organized by the Institute and the Office of the Hon. Kenneth Leung, LegCo Member (Accountancy Functional Constituency), on 22 and 29 July.

How to become a business partner
Enrol in the seminar on 4 Aug. for helpful hints on topics such as visibility, collaboration, influencing power and continuous learning. +

Enrol in the compliance series seminar on 12 July to learn more about the detection and prevention of global financial crimes and fraud schemes and money laundering in different industries.


Belt and Road Summit

Sports competition results
The Institute's badminton team joined the PwC invitational tournament on 18 June, competing with all of the Big Four accounting firms. Click to see photos.
