Accountancy Manpower Research Advisory Panel

 

 

Revised Terms of Reference

 

 

 

The Advisory Panel reports to Council on the findings and insights about the accountancy manpower situation in Hong Kong through research studies undertaken as required.  With a better understanding of the manpower requirements, the Institute can then make strategic plans and take appropriate actions in attracting the best talents to the profession and identifying the necessary skill set of professional accountants to sustain Hong Kong as a leading international financial centre in the region.

 

 

To carry out its responsibilities, the Advisory Panel will perform the following functions:

 

 

1.            Obtain necessary and relevant information to help the Institute to plan ahead on the accountancy manpower development.

 

 

2.            Conduct research studies including but not limited to membership surveys, focus group meetings, external reports and in-house research project(s) as necessary on key matters pertaining to the accountancy manpower development.

 

 

3.            Receive and consider reports on the research studies entailing analysis on primary data such as the Institute members' and students' database as well as secondary data on reports compiled by other organizations, and provide advice to Council for consideration.

 

 

4.            Based on the research findings, make recommendation to Council with a view to achieve the strategic aims of attracting the best talents to the accountancy profession as well as identifying the necessary skill set of professional accountants to meet the market needs.

 

 

5.            Consider any issues in relation to the accountancy manpower development as may be assigned by Council.
